Best Wishes - Just For You

Good Morning Everyone

Today's card is quick, easy and straightforward

Products Used: (which are linked to items on Phill's website too) :-)

Cream Card Stock
Burgundy Card Stock
Sentimentally Yours Scribbled Corners
Sentimentally Yours Baroque Sentiments
Sue Wilson Dies Spanish Collection - Seville
Sue Wilson Caribbean Collection - Borders, Accent & Tag
Spellbinder Blooms 3
Distress Inks
Stickles

Matting & Layering

I started with an 8 x 8 Cream Card Blank
1st layer Burgundy Card cut to 19 cm x 20 cm
2nd layer Cream Card cut to 14 cm x 19 cm
3rd layer Burgundy Card cut to 13.5 cm x 18.5 cm
4th layer Cream Card cut to 13 cm x 18 cm

Using the Border Die I cut both sides of the 19 cm x 20 cm Burgundy layer and attached this flat to the base card. Then I attached the 14 cm x 19 cm Cream Layer using pads to give it dimension, followed by the 13.5 cm x 18.5 cm Burgundy Layer which I glued flat. Taking the last Cream Layer 13 cm x 18 cm I stamped each corner using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, again attaching this flat to the card.

Using a piece of Burgundy Card I cut out the Topper from the Spanish Collection Seville Die, and attached this to the card again  using pads, then for the Sentiment I used  a stamp from The Baroque Collection and stamped onto a piece of Cream Card using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Then I cut it out and attached again using pads

Flowers

Using up leftover card I cut the flowers using Spellbinder Blooms 3

I shaped these before gluing together, then attached to the card.
Finally I added Stickles around the edges of the petals and a Dazzler to the centre of each flower.

My first Christmas Card.. (and a sneaky peek!)

Good Morning Everyone

Well, the sunshine seems to have gone on holiday!

Cloudy and breezy here today, so, I've mashed a cuppa, sat at my desk and thought I'd show you my first Christmas Card of 2015!

This is also a bit of a cheeky sneaky peek, as I've actually used one of my brand new Christmas Holly Sentiment Stamps (coming very, very soon!!)

Anyhoo,
In case you want to recreate this card (when you have the stamps of course) I made it in exactly the same way as the Decadent Wine card on my post from Monday (6th July),
all that I did differently was,
Heat embossed the Sentiment and Holly in the corners with Gold Detail Embossing Powder.
Used my Decadent Bamboo Cosmic Shimmer products (lovely on Cream or White card!)
Used Holly dies instead of flowers

And the rest you can see :-)

I just wanted to show you this card really, I absolutely love it myself,.. in fact, I think this style could be my style for this year (well, for the 6 that actually get posted!)

Here it is.., I hope you like it :-)

Special Friend - Sent with Love - Using the New Scribbled Corner Stamps

Good Morning Everyone, thank you all for your lovely comments on my previous post.

Today's card is an 8 x 8 in Cream & Magenta

Products Used: (which are links to items on Phill's Website too) :-

Cream Cardstock
Decadent Damask 8x8 Paperpad
Sentimentally Yours Scribbled Corner Stamps
Sentimentally Yours Baroque Sentiments
Creative Expressions 8x8 Snakeskin Embossing Folder
Sue Wilson Finishing Touches-Delicate Fronds
Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Delicate Daisies Complete Petals
Chic Magenta Cosmic Shimmer Mister Spray
Chic Magenta Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles
Chic Magenta Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax
Chic MagentaCosmic Shimmer P.V.A.Glue
Spellbinder Dies Curved Border One

Matting & Layering

 8 x 8 Cream Card Blank

1st layer Decadent Damask paper cut to 20 cm x 20 cm

2nd layer Cream Card cut to 18.5 cm x 18.5 cm

3rd layer Cream Card cut to 17 cm x 17 cm

4th layer Decadent Damask cut to 15 cm x 15 cm

5th layer Cream Card cut to 14.5 cm x 16 cm

Taking the 2nd layer I sprayed this with Mister Spray, and while it was drying (which is only a few seconds) I embossed the 3rd layer. I then attached these to the card using pads on the 2nd layer to give dimension.
I then did the die cutting on the 5th layer and trimmed it down to leave a small border.

Using the lovely New Scribbled Corner Stamps
I stamped the top 2 corners then attached both of these layers to the card, using pads on the burgundy layer. I then added P.V.A. around the curve.
For the Topper I used an off cut from the Decadent Damask  Paper.
The Sentiment was stamped using Distress Ink

Flowers

Again using off cuts I cut out the fronds and daisies.
I added Gilding Wax to the centre of the daisies before
shaping and gluing. Once I was happy with the shape I
added them to the card and finally added the Twinkles.

Decadent Wine,... With Love...

Good Morning Everyone

It's Monday!

Which means it's a brand new week and I have a brand new card to give away!

I love my range of Ink Misters and love that you can take a plain ole piece of cardstock and make it priddy with just a teeny bit of ink from the misters,.. I also love that you can die cut your favourite embellishments in the exact same colour!

It's also a bit of a bonus for me as I create the colours I want and then Creative Expressions develop the lovely products for me in completely co-ordinating colours,.. for a co-ordination freak like me, it's perfect!

It's something I've always wanted to do,.. reduce the stress for us crafters and maximise crafting time,.. no more searching for different products in colours that may or may not match,.. mine do!

Anyhoo,.. here's this weeks giveaway card... it's a big one,.. 18cm x 24cm to be precise!

This is what I used
(as always, the list is also a link to the product on my website, just in case you 'need' to purchase any of the items I've used :-)

Coconut White Foundations Cardstock
Tartan Trellis A4 Embossing Folder
Decadent Wine Complete Cosmic Shimmer Kit
Sentimentally Yours Scribbled Frame Sentiments Stamps
Sentimentally Yours Rose Montage Stamps
Aged Mahogany Distress Ink Pad
Bundled Sage Distress Ink Pad
Dies by Sue Wilson Gemini PYXIS Die
Dies by Sue Wilson Austrian Collection - Innsbruck
Dies by Sue Wilson Austrian Collection - Salzburg
Dies by Sue Wilson - Finishing Touches - Faux Quilled Blooms

And here's what I did

I trimmed 2 pieces of Coconut White cardstock to 18cm x 24cm and on one of them I scored down 2.5cm on the short side (this just creates a 'fold' so the card stands)
Layer 1 is 17.5 x 23.5cm and this was embossed with the lovely (one of my faves) Tartan Trellis Embossing folder in my Grand Calibur, the edges were inked using the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink Pad.

I cut two pieces of card using the Pyxis die, both pieces are 17.5 cm wide and they were trimmed so that one overlaps the other slightly.
The larger of the two was given the Decadent Wine Ink Mister treatment (as was the waste bit from this piece, which was used at the top of my card)
The smaller piece was stamped on the bottom corners with one of the roses from my Rose Montage stamps, 2 in first generation and 1 second generation in the centre, Leaves were stamped either side using second generation Bundled Sage.
These pieces were then stuck to the bottom of the embossed piece with Cosmic Shimmer glue, as was the waste piece that was ink misted and then this lot was stuck to the card itself with Cosmic Shimmer glue.

I added the peals using the Decadent Wine Pearl PVA Glue and set this all to one side to dry.

In the meantime, I die cut the layers from the Innsbruck and Salzburg dies from Coconut White Foundations Cardstock, the bottom (full) layer from each set was ink misted and the smaller oval on top was given a stamped edge using the beautiful Rose Montage stamps (top tip - do the leaves first), you can see that I did the same on the oval, 2 first generation and 1 second generation. Stamping my montage stamps 'off the edge' of toppers really makes the topper priddy :-) I stamped my new Scribbled Frame Sentiment into the centre using the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
All these layers are on foam tape for definition.

I used some of the ink misted cardstock that was left and die cut 2 butterflies, placing one either side of my toppers.

As a finishing touch, I die cut 3 flowers from the Faux Quilled Blooms in the same size and some leaves.
These were stuck onto the card using Cosmic Shimmer Glue and I added a large pearl using the Decadent Wine PVA Glue,.. brilliant that we can make these any size!!

Finally, I added one of my signature triple upside bows (link to my YouTube Video showing you how to make them) using some co-ordinating seam binding ribbon and the extra tails, with a lovely heart dazzler in the centre (use Cosmic Shimmer glue for sticking the dazzlers too, sticks like a dream onto seam binding!)

Anyhoo, I hope you like this card,.. I really enjoyed making it (so much so, I'm re-creating it as a Christmas card with my new stamps as we type,.. well, I will be finishing it once I've finished this post lol)

To be in with a chance of winning this card, simply leave a comment (you must be following my Blog too) and the winner will be chosen at random next Monday (13th) morning.

A4 White & Silver Embossed Wedding Card

Good Morning Everyone,

Todays card is a Wedding Day Card in White and Silver Embossed  A4 format.

I have had lots of 'likes' and comments on this both on my Facebook page and at Phill's Shows.
I hope you all like it too.

Products Used (which are links to the items on Phill's Website too)

Plain White Cardstock
Decadent Damask Occasions Stamps
Decadent Damask Corners Stamps
Sentimentally Yours Lacy Rectangles
Sue Wilson Camellia Open Petals
Sue Wilson Camellia Complete Petals
Cosmic Shimmer Silver Embossing Powder
Seam Binding
Dazzlers & Stick Pins
Crystal Stickles
Sue Wilson Heart Lattice Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Flutters Die

For the Base
1x A3 Plain White Card Stock folded in half (21 x 29.5)
Then cut 2 layers - first layer 20.5 x 29
second layer 20 x 28.5
Cut 2 strips for centre panel 6.5 x 28.5 and 4.5 x 28.5

Matt and Layer

The first layer I left plain.
Second layer I stamped the corners and heat embossed, then used the embossing folder. Add both layers to the card.
For the centre panel I used one of the long stamps and heat embossed along the edges. The second strip I put through the embossing folder.

Focal Point
Using a plain piece of card, stamp and heat emboss using the rectangle stamp, then cut this out. Cut a rectangle using the die, then stamp sentiment and heat emboss. These are then added to the card using pads to give dimension.

Flowers

I cut a large amount of flowers using offcuts of white card and moulded these before gluing together.
Once dry I added twinkles around the edges of the petals
and a gem to the centre.
The butterfly I layered and added twinkles.

Finally to finish the card I made a bow using Seam Binding (no prizes for guessing who taught me lol) and added a gem and stick pins.

My First Post on Phill's Blog

Hello Crafters

I'm Barbara Sherwood known to my friends as Barb. Phill has asked if I would help out with keeping his blog up to date, as you all know he struggles with time, so I'll be sharing some of the cards I have made for his TV shows.

This will allow Phill more time to design and produce lots of new and exciting products for us all to enjoy, but he will still be posting on his Blog as often as he can.

I go to Phills' workshops in his shop every Thursday and have learned so much from him, you'll probably recognise some of his style in my own work :-)

Some of you will have hopefully seen my card samples on his Create & Craft shows, and many of you will also have seen me on his stand at Craft Shows.

I hope you will all join me on my new crafting journey (blogging is all new to me)

Well that's enough about me ..........

The card for today is one of my favourites..........

Products used (which are links to the items on Phills' website too) :-)

White Cardstock
Cosmic Shimmer Ink Mister  Chic Grey-Blue
Cosmic Shimmer P.V.A. glue Chic Grey-Blue
Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles Chic Grey-Blue
Creative Expressions Snakeskin Embossing Folder
Sue Wilson Californian Collection Decorative Frames Set B
Sue Wilson Fern Trio Dies
Spellbinder Blooms 4 Dies
Creative Expression Dazzlers & Pins
Sentimentally Yours Chic Floral Paper Pad
Sentimentally Yours Chic Floral Birthday Verses Stamps A5
Distress Ink Pad

This is an A4 card
I started by cutting 2 layers for the base. The first layer being plain white card stock which I sprayed lightly with Mister Spray. The second layer is Chic Floral Paper, the top half floral with the bottom half reversed and embossed. I then put a divider by using a strip of Crochet Ribbon across the join.

Next I cut the dies, I used the two largest dies from Set B and the 2 largest  dies from Set A

Taking the largest die from Set B I used P.V.A.around the edges. The largest die from Set A I decorated with Twinkles.
The next layer which is the second largest from Set B I left plain. The top layer is the second size down from Set A which I stamped with the Birthday Verse.

I cut several flowers out using off cuts of plain card and off cuts from the paper pad. (nothing goes to waste) I then moulded these until I was happy with the shape, then added a gem to the centre, and leaves either side.
Finally I added a couple of stick pins to the top of the sentiment.

Happy Crafting!
