Step by Step - Stamped Camellia Flowers...

Good Afternoon Everyone

As I've got 10 minutes spare (which is very rare these days), I thought I'd show you a couple of step by step photos of some flowers I have made to go on one of my sample cards for my shows on Hochanda next week,..

I'm so looking forward to these shows too, as it's the first time you will have seen my complete collection of Scribbled Sentiments (and 3 brand new additions too!)

Anyhoo, I digress!

You probably know from my style of crafting that I like symmetry (if somewhat loosely sometimes) in the 'decoration' of my cards,.. and die cut flowers are my favourite way of doing this,..

Now, there are no set 'rules' to how we make our flowers, plain, inked, misted, embossed.. the list goes on and on,.., but one thing I do love to do, is use my background stamps to add interest and 'another level' to the finished flowers.. with this in mind,. here are a couple of the flowers I have made today, using Sues' Camellia Flower dies (complete petals) and my own Tiny Little Ink Splats A6 Background Stamp... would you have ever though that these little ink splats would look so lovely on a die cut flower? No, me neither, until I made one (just goes to show, the only rules in crafting are the ones we impose on ourselves!) ha ha

So,..
Step 1 - Simply, die cut however many flowers you want from whatever colour cardstock you want..

I've used good ole plain Ivory card here..

Step 2
I then stamped my Tiny Little Ink Splats all over them with my Black Soot distress Ink Pad.

Step 3
Then, I curled each of the petals back, or rolled them back (if that makes sense), with my pointy tweezers (a quilling tool will do this too, as long as the card fits into the slot, I prefer my tweezers) (bone folders will not curl the petals back enough) I then loosened the bottom flower petals a little and, using my cosmic shimmer pva glue, made 4 flowers using two sizes of flower and 2 flowers using 3 sizes :-)

Starting to take shape!

Step 4
Then, using my cosmic shimmer pva glue, I put a full pearl (from the Stick Pin Elements range) into each flower,.. this shaped flower is perfect for it and I particularly like these flowers as they have a beautiful shape that is different to all those roses everyone does :-)

Step 5
I finished off by putting pva glue on the edges of the curled back petals and dunking the full flower into my favourite, Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels.. :-)

And here's the finished card :-)

Hope you like it,.. I may even demo this on one of my shows on Tuesday :-)

Here's a little reminder of my show times for next week
Hope you can watch!
