Festive Berries in Rich Red and Cream

Hello Crafters

I know, I know - don't fall off your chair as it's me doing the Blog post :-)

My brand new Festive Berries Collection is on my website and available to order right now!

I posted a photo of this card I made using my new collection on my Facebook page and have had so many people ask me what I used, I thought it was easier to do a Blog post, so, here I am,... sat with a cuppa, writing a post for you...

The Fired Brick Distress Oxide is the perfect shade to compliment the Rich Red Card,.. add to that, the fact that you can emboss on top of Distress Oxides, I think they are brill!
I have used Detail Clear Embossing Powder on top of the Fancy Frame stamp and it gives it a lovely glossy finish (not sure you can make it out on the photo)

The Festive Berries Collection of stamps is so intricately detailed, from tiny pine cones, holly leaves and fir branches, to tiny berries...

They stamp beautifully with ink pads and embossing powders too...

I'm not going to bore you with how I made the card, as you can see where I have matted and layered, stamped etc,..

I will tell you that I have designed some of these stamps to work in harmony with some of Sue's new Christmas Dies,.. the Noelle die, for example, will cut out my Fancy Frame stamps, leaving you a lovely, neat border :-)

I adore detail in my stamps, in fact, I push the limits to what a clear stamp can do every time I design stamps,.. as, for me, it's all in the detail and this is why I love stamps!
Hopefully, you can see the detail in these gorgeous festive Berries Mini Sentiments (I have embossed this the same way as the frame too!),.. lovely! and, more importantly, they will all fit within the frame,..

Finishing touches that don't overpower your sentiment are key for me, you know I love flowers and any kind of decoration on my cards, but, always, the words are the most imoprtant part,.. this is why I make our own cards (for fun and to say something to those who matter to me, even if I'm rubbish at posting them ha ha),.. the decoration should be drawing attention to the sentiment, not taking over (hopefully I have managed this ha ha)

Butterfly Elegance - Very Happy Birthday

Hello Crafters,

I am thrilled to be adding my first card sample to Phill's blog!

We are currently making this card at our workshops in the Sheffield store, and I have also attached an alternative version for you!

This card is a sample using the beautiful 'Butterfly Elegance' stamp collection and the gorgeous 'Frosted Essentials' paper pads.  I have chosen the Frosted Aqua colour theme as it coordinates with the decor in the Sheffield shop! 

On this card I have used  the A5 Sentiments Stamp set to create the main sentiment, but the lovely flourish is also part of this set, making coordinating the card easy.  (I did mask off the butterfly from the flourish to keep the sentiment clear) To add more interest, the smaller butterflies are from the Butterfly Icons A6 Stamp set which I think finishes the die cut centre perfectly!

Here is another one of my Butterfly Elegance Samples, this time with the beautiful Wisteria Foundations cardstock... (another lovely colour!

This will be one of my demo's through the day too :-)

On this card, you'll see that I have only used 1 set of stamps, for the sentiment in the centre, but the lovely little flourish is also part of the sentiments collection too and I love the little finishing touches around the die cut centres,.. brings the whole look together :-)

Butterfly Elegance - Blue Dusk & Coconut White

Today's the day!

My Butterfly Elegance Collection launches tonight at 8pm on Hochanda!!

I'm so excited about this collection, mind you, I'm always excited about all my collections ha ha

This is the first time in nearly 3 years (that's how long I've had my Sentimentally Yours brand,.. time flies!) that I have featured butterflies within my sentiments, frames and verse stamps... who would have thought I could wait that long, especially, as you know, butterflies are an integral part of crafting!

So, I will have a few more of my samples to show you over the next few days whilst I'm at Hochanda :-)

As you will have read from previous posts, I have really taken my time and really 'crafted' with these stamps,.. with so much detail, centred around the stamps :-)

Butterfly Elegance - Coconut White & Lilac - Sneaky Peek!

As promised, here is sneaky peek number 2.

This is the second sample I made and, I have to be honest, it took me over 2 hours to make!
What with deciding on dies, then actually cutting them (there's a fair few!), then deciding on the colour theme and what not,.. you know the drill ha ha

I have to say, too, that I love the end result, I wish you could all see it in 'real life' as the photos just don't do it justice...

You'll probably notice that the oval frame (featuring the new stitched effect as the other frames in this collection), has the double pierced oval die as a matt, but, had I actually cut the stamp out using the dies, the piercing would be on the outside of my stamp,.. this was such a big thing for me to get right too as I didn't want the piercing of the die to spoil the stitching of my stamp (Creative Expressions love my 'particularness' (new word!) ha ha

This is quite a big card (23cm x 17cm) and there are so many layers it weighs a tonne, so, if you replicate this (happy for you to do so!), just miss out a layer or two (or stick them flat instead of using foam tape (as I do)
