Graceful Mint - Happy Anniversary

Good Morning Everyone

Not a very nice day here in Nottingham, but we have to make the most of it and 'Carry On Crafting'

Today's card is one I created using  Graceful Mint - I hope you like it.

Products Used:- Which can all be found on Phill's Website - www.honeypotcrafts.co.uk

8 x 8 Cream Card Blank
Cream Card Stock
Graceful Butterfly & Dragonfly Paper Pad
Graceful Mint Twinkles
Graceful Mint P.V.A.
Graceful Mint Mister Spray
Sentimentally Yours Bracket Everyday Sentiments A5 Stamps
Tartan Trellis Embossing Folder
Sue Wilson Dies - Petite Vinery
Sue Wilson New York Collection - Madison Square
Spellbinder Blooms
Spellbinder Bracket Borders 2
Spellbinder Flutters
Cosmic Shimmer Glue
Silver Embossing Powder

This is how I made it:-
8 x 8 Card Blank

1st layer -  Graceful Mint Paper cut to 7.75 sq

2nd layer - Cream Card Stock cut to 7.5 sq which I sprayed with Mint Mister Spray and then embossed using the Tartan Trellis Embossing Folder.

I then attached both layers flat to the card.

Using a sheet of Cream Card Stock and 2 Bracket Dies.
I lined these up each side and cut each one separate.
I then backed this with Mint Paper and attached to the card using pads to give dimension.

Sentiment

Using the Madison Square Die I cut out in Cream Card stock and backed with Graceful Mint Paper. I then cut the centre square out and using the Everyday Sentiment I heat embossed using Silver Embossing Powder, then attached all these to the card using pads.

Flowers

Using Spellbinders Blooms 3 I cut out 2 sets using Cream Card offcuts and Graceful Mint Paper, then attached to the card, and also added the leaves.

Final Touches

I used Cosmic Shimmer Glue on the petals and leaves, then sprinkled with Glacier Ice and added a dazzler to the centres.

Next I added Graceful Mint Twinkles to the edges of the large centre die cut and Graceful Mint P.V.A. to the outer edge of the sentiment square.

Finally I cut the butterfly out in Graceful Mint Paper and sprinkled the wings with Glacier Ice.

Graceful Lilac - Birthday Wishes

Good Morning Everyone,

Its been a busy time these last few days, Phill's Craftathon was  a great success, many thanks to all who attended, judging by the comments on the day, you all enjoyed yourselves.

Today's card 8 x 8

Products Used:- ( which are also links to Phill's Website) :-)

8 x 8 Card Blank
Graceful Butterflies and Dragonflies Paper Pad
Dragonfly Days Background Stamp
Sentimentally Yours Baroque Sentiments 2 Collection Stamps
Lilac Card Stock
White Card Stock
Graceful Lilac Mister Spray
Graceful Lilac Mica Powder
Graceful Lilac P.V.A
Graceful Lilac Twinkles
Seam Binding
Medium Dazzlers
Spell Binder Dragon Delight Dies
Sue Wilson French Collection Provence Dies

The first thing I did before cutting out was to colour the Seam Binding with Graceful Lilac Mister Spray. ( needs time to dry)

1st Layer Lilac Paper from Paper pad cut to 7.75 square.
I then cut a strip of the coloured Seam Binding and attached it to the 7.75 square before attaching to the main card.

Next I cut the layers:-

2 pieces of plain white card stock

1st layer - 7 x 4.25
2nd layer - 7 x 2.25

I then inked the edges and attached flat to the main card.

Using the Lilac Card Stock I cut 2 pieces

1st - 6.75 x 4"
2nd - 6.75 x 2"
and attached to the card using pads.

I then cut 2 more pieces of white card

1st - 6.5 x 3.75
2nd - 6.5 x 1.75

Using a small amount of Mica Powder and Mister Spray I blended these together to use as ink, then using the Dragonfly Days Background Stamp I randomly stamped. Once dried I attached to the card using pads to give dimension.

Sentiment

I cut out the centre feature using white and lilac card stock, and the Provence Die.

I chose a Sentiment from the Baroque Collection and then attached to to the card.

Finishing Touches
Using White and Lilac Card I cut out the Dragonflies and attached to the card. I then added the P.V.A. and Glamour Dust.

I added Graceful Lilac Twinkles around the edge of the sentiment.

Finally with the remaining Seam Binding I made a double bow and swags, then finished  off with a Whie  medium size Dazzler.

It all starts with,... plain white cardstock!

Good Afternoon Everyone

It's just started to rain (again), so, I've mashed myself a cuppa and thought I'd shock you all by writing a blog post :-)

If I'm honest, it's this weeks class project that has reminded me "I should use my blog more", as I absolutely loved making this card,.. so much so, that I made the same card in 3 different colour ways (Denim version is still drying at the shop... those pesky Pearl PVA glues,.. making me wait for drying time) ha ha

So, as you'd expect from me,. I start with plain white cardstock, then I decide which of my lovely Cosmic Shimmer sets to 'play' with, then it all goes from there,..

I always have a 'vague idea' of what I want to achieve, but (as most of us do), I change those ideas as I go!

I decided on Chic Pumpkin.. which is a lovely, burnt orange colour..

Here's what I used:

White Cardstock :-)
Decadent Damask Inspirational Phrases Stamp Set by, erm, me lol
Chic Pumpkin Ink Mister
Chic Pumpkin Gilding Wax
Chic Pumpkin Twinkles
Delicate Daisies Dies by Sue
French Collection Corner, Border and Tag Die Set by Sue
A4 Wild Roses Embossing Folder
St Kitts Die Set by Sue

And here's what I did:

This is an 8x8 card.
I cut two layers for the base of this card (one 19.5cm square, which I then pierced all the way around, then another, 18.5cm square, which I gave a light'ish misting with the Chic Pumpkin Ink Mister)

The narrowest piece of white card that was left over from the 19.5cm piece I cut was embossed with the beautiful Wild Roses embossing folder.

I cut two borders from the French Collection dies and these were stuck underneath the embossed piece and attached to the card using foam tape for dimension.

I cut the centre piece from the St Kitts die set, using the two larger dies together and then the larger die on its' own (this one was given the light'ish dusting of the Chic Pumpkin Ink Mister) and the two were stuck together with Cosmic Shimmer glue, I also cut the extra centre for the sentiment with the ST Kitts die set.

I stamped my sentiment from my lovely Damask Inspirational Phrases Stamp Set, using my Black Soot distress ink pad.

The edges of the sentiment area were inked using the Chic Pumpkin Ink Mister (just spray onto your craft sheet and pick some ink up with your Cut n Dry foam), this centre was attached to the topper with foam tape and the topper was attached to the card with a double layer of foam tape, for extra dimension.

The flowers were created using Sues' Delicate Daisies dies (complete petal), each flower was finished in the centre using the Chic Pumpkin Gilding Wax and a teeny drop of the Chic Pumpkin Twinkles.

I finished off by adding a couple of pearls using teh Chic Pumpkin Pearl PVA glue on the centre topper and on the four corners of the card.

I hope you like this card,.. I really enjoyed making it and, here's one of the other colour ways I did,..

This is the Decadent Bamboo version.. :-)

Graceful Mustard... Just For You! :-)

Good Afternoon Everyone

It's a lovely, sunny, Sunday afternoon so I thought I would share this lovely, sunny card with you :-)
This is the card we did at my workshops this week,.. it was also re-created in other colours from my Graceful collection of Cosmic Shimmer products by some of the class and, I have to say, they all looked equally beautiful!

What I Used:
A4 White Cardstock
My Graceful Mustard Ink Mister
My Graceful Mustard Pearl PVA
My Graceful Mustard Mica Powder
Sentimentally Yours Baroque Sentiments Stamps
Sentimentally Yours Leafy Background Stamp
Sea Garden A4 Embossing Folder by Sue Wilson
Scandinavian Collection Corner, Border & Tag Die Set by Sue Wilson
Large, Big and Super Daisy Punches by Woodware
Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Star Twinkles

The card was created using 1 sheet of A4, cut in half, scored at 2.5cm and glued at the top, using the fold as a guide,.. this is one of my favourite shapes as you can add the little fancy decoration above the score line :-)

The top half of the main part was misted (lightly) with the mustard mister, left to dry and then embossed with the beautiful Sea Garden embossing folder... it creates a lovely, tonal effect and the embossing brings some texture.

The bottom half was stamped using my Leafy Background stamp, the 'ink' was created using a few mists from the mustard ink mister, then a tiny amount of the mustard mica powder mixed into the ink, this gives you a beautiful, pearlescent, mustard 'ink' that you can apply direct to the stamp with a piece of cut and dry foam. (you can't tell from the photo, but the pattern is pearlescent when the light catches it)
I also used the 'ink' that was left on the foam to finish off the very edge of the top of the card too :-)

The flowers were created using the varying sizes of daisy punches, some misted with the mustard
mister, some left white,.. each was finished with a good squeeze of the mustard pearl pva glue, which, once it dries, gives you a really pretty centre to your flowers,.. in (as you'd expect from me) a completely co-ordinated colour scheme :-)

The sentiment was stamped in black soot distress ink (must have!) using my Baroque Sentiments Stamps and by masking off the detailed designs on the stamp with removable tape.
Anyhoo,.. I hope you like it,..
If you have any of my Graceful Cosmic Shimmer products, have a go at this card,.. :-)

Happy Crafting!

Life is beautiful...

Good Morning Everyone

It's a nippy one too! so I've mashed a cuppa and thought I'd pop this card on that was one of my samples on Create & Craft.
I've had lot's of people ask me to put the photos on my Blog so I will :-)

This card features a sentiment from my Sentimentally Yours Stamps and this set will be on C and C on my next shows (I'll confirm the dates as soon as I can)

Here's a photo of the card

Here's what I used
1 6x6 white card blank
Vintage pink seam binding ribbon
Couture Creations Great Almanzo embossing folder
Cosmic Shimmer Clover ink mist

I love this card, lot's of inky fun, but still quite a pretty finish and it's easy to do!
You can see how I've assembled the card from the photo, so I'll just tell you what I did on which layer :-)
There is a plain white layer on the card blank, the second layer has been misted with my Clover Ink Mist, then another white layer (no edges inked on the white layers to give it a clear seperation), the next layer has been stamped with my perfect medium using my Tiny Little Ink Splats stamp, then embossed with the Pink Speckle embossing powder, I then distressed all over the top with victorian velvet and wiped the ink off the embossed areas.
The next layer has been given a beautiful edge using the scalloped borders 2 dies, this was then embossed up to where the scalloped border starts. (I did very lightly ink the edges of this layer)
The dies were cut from my inking card and the base die given the distressed edge treatment :-)
The top die was glittered all around the edge.
The sentiment was stamped with the Victorian Velvet distress ink onto my inking card and cut out, then distressed around the edges and glittered.
TOP TIP - You'll see me distressing most of my sentiments and if you look closely, I always leave the middle bit clear, this draws the eye to the words of the sentiment :-) You can see on my sentiment on this photo that I have put more ink on the left and right to achieve this effect.

Hope you like it
:-)
